Bajaj Auto has given a slight update to its flagship bike Pulsar 200 NS and this time, it is more of an aesthetic update. It gets two new dual-tone finishes in addition to the already existing 4 colour options namely Cherry Black, Safire Blue, Tosca Red and Mustard Yellow. Though the official names are unknown as yet, we refer to them as “red and black” blend and “white and black” blend. The dual-tone operations were first carried out on the Pulsar 220 earlier this year and the same is being done on the 200 NS.
Ulterior motive behind this dual-tone finish on the Pulsar 200 NS is to make the bike stand out amongst a host of regular Pulsars plying on our roads. Another reason for the update is to ensure that the inventory is cleared ahead of the launch of the 2014 Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS which is expected to come with fuel-injection technology which would boost performance with increased fuel efficiency. The new paintjob and graphics will facilitate inventory clearance. Bajaj is expected to announce the new bike by the end of this year.
The Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS gets similar speedlines as that of the Pulsar 220. The front fairings, handlebars and grab rails are all black while the foot pegs get silver treatment. The Pulsar 200 NS is powered by a 4-stroke, single-cylinder, SOHC, liquid-cooled engine with a displacement of 199.5cc. It produces a power output of 23.2 BHP at 9500 RPM with a torque rating of 18.3 Nm at 8000 RPM. The bike is currently sold at Rs. 87,794/- (ex-showroom, New Delhi) and the new updated dual-tone bikes are expected to hit the showrooms by the end of the month.
Update – Another colour has been unveiled, it’s dual tone blue and black.
