Bajaj Auto has launched the Platina 100 KS (Kick Start) at Rs. 51,667/- (Ex-showroom). The bike boasts of some new practical features and has gotten better than before on paper.
Aesthetically, the Platina 100 KS now gets a refreshed look because of its unique and stylish handguards. The indicators and mirrors have received an update as well, and they look sharper than before. A new tank pad is also present for extra sportiness.
The halogen headlamp with a LED DRL has remained unchanged, and so has the small tinted visor upfront. The Platina comes in the same colour options as before which are Cocktail Wine Red and Ebony Black and the ribbed seat remains unchanged too.
Along with the aesthetics, Bajaj has tweaked the Platina’s suspension as well. It now gets a ‘Spring-on-Spring’ Nitrox suspension, which provides 15% more comfort on long rides, according to Bajaj.
Further, Bajaj claims that the front and rear suspension are 20% longer than before which will aid in absorbing bumps. The bike also gets tubeless tyres which ensure hassle-free puncture repairs. Other than this, the motorcycle sees no other changes.
Powering the bike is the same BS6-compliant 102cc single-cylinder motor which makes 7.9 PS of power at 7500 RPM and 8.34 Nm of torque at 5500 RPM. The motor is mated to a 4-speed transmission, and the claimed top-speed is 90 km/hr.
Price-wise, the Platina 100 KS is now a little more expensive, but the new parts sort of justify the price hike. Even at this price, the Platina remains as one of the best workhorses in the two-wheeler space and it has definitely gotten more purposeful.
