Bajaj Auto had showcased the Pulsar 200 NS for the first time in January 2012 and the company gave a rough indication of a April launch. April has arrived but there are no signs of the next generation Bajaj Pulsar yet. Well, Bajaj Auto is busy making changes to the Pulsar 200 NS, ironing out small issues and improving the quality of the bike. The company is making improvements to the production version as prototypes showcased earlier had small niggles. The production of the Pulsar 200 NS is expected to start in the last week of this month.
Bajaj Auto will be giving the Pulsar 200 NS a more powerful headlight. The prototype had a 35 watt bulb, but the production version will have a 55 watt bulb. Bajaj Auto has also made changes to the rear mudguard, which will now have a matte black treatment, instead of the glossy finish we have seen on the concept version. The instrument cluster lights will receive some changes too, for improved visibility in the day. The bike will be offered with MRF and TVS tyres and the company is expected to give an option to the buyer to chose his preferred make.
The Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS is the most awaited motorcycle in India this year. It is powered by a 200cc, SOHC, 4-valve engine with triple spark plugs. Producing 23.17 BHP of peak power at 9500 RPM and 18.3 Nm of peak torque at 8000 RPM, Bajaj claim the Pulsar 200 NS will hit 60 km/h in 3.61 seconds and 100 km/h in just 9.83 seconds. The Pulsar 200 NS is not the fastest Indian with a top speed of 136 km/h. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and the Pulsar 200 NS uses liquid cooling. With the use of lighter components, the Pulsar 200 NS weighs 145 kgs.
