Bajaj Auto has extended its two-wheeler portfolio with the launch of the new Discover 125T. The company has extended its presence in the 125cc segment with the new competitively priced 125cc commuter. Bajaj Auto has distributed its products well to compete in each segment from 100cc city commuter Discover 100 to Pulsar 200 NS and 220 in the performance motorcycle segment. The Discover 125T is a stripped down version of the Discover 125 ST which the company launched last year.
The Bajaj Discover 125T is powered by a 125cc, 4-valve, twin-spark engine that generates 12.5 PS of power at 9000 RPM and 10.8 Nm of torque at 6500 RPM. The same engine is employed on the Discover 125 ST with similar tech specs. The major difference that the company has brought to the 125T is the replacement of the mono-shock suspension with traditional gas filled twin shockers at the rear. As far as we can tell, the major reason behind the suspension change might be concerned with the market preference as most Indian buyers have a likely mindset towards traditional twin shock suspension.
Along with the front disc brake option, the Bajaj Discover 125T is also available with drum brake at both ends and the seat is also lowered for the pillion rider to make city commuting more comfortable. Bajaj Auto has priced the 125T Drum at Rs. 52,500/- while the front disc brake variant is priced at Rs. 55,500/-. The company has been selling the Discover 125 ST with a price tag of Rs. 56,026/- which comes with front disc as standard (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
Bajaj Auto is expecting an increase in its sales with the launch of the Discover 125T as the price will be competitive against the Hero Glamour and Honda CB Shine which were earlier hard to compete with due to the absence of non-disc option on the Discover 125 ST. The new Discover range now consists of Discover 100, Discover 100T, Discover 125, Discover 125T and Discover 125 ST.
