Bajaj has just launched another Discover 125 motorcycle which has a claimed mileage of 82 km/l. The bike is based on the last generation Discover platform.
Bajaj has just launched another Discover 125 which is based on the old generation model. The bike returns a claimed fuel efficiency of 82 km/l and sits below the Discover 125M in the company’s 125cc bike portfolio. The Discover 125 is powered by a 124.6cc single-cylinder, 2-valve, DTS-i with ExhausTEC that produces 11 PS of power at 8000 RPM and 10.8 Nm of torque at 5500 RPM. The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission and the bike gets kick and electric start options.
Bajaj claims that the Discover 125 reaches a top speed of 100 km/hr while it has a climbing ability of 25%. The front suspension uses telescopic forks with 130 mm travel while the rear suspension comprises of Nitrox twin shocks with 110 mm travel. On the braking front, the bike gets a 200 mm front petal disc as standard while the rear uses a 130 mm drum. The fuel tank capacity of the Discover 125 is 8-litres out of which 1.6-litres is usable reserve quantity. The bike runs on a 100/90/17 rear tyre and uses a semi-double cradle frame.
The Bajaj Discover 125 measures 2035 mm in length, 760 mm in width, 1087 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 1305 mm. The seat height is 800 mm while the motorcycle’s ground clearance is 165 mm. The commuter bike weighs 120.5 kgs and is priced at Rs. 53,096/- (ex-showroom, Pune). The new Discover 125 competes against the Honda CB Shine, Yamaha Saluto and Hero Super Splendor in the 125cc segment. Bajaj had not so long ago launched the Discover 125 ST and 125T, both of which were discontinued, keeping the 125M model on sale.
