Bajaj Auto Ltd, has launched a 135cc version of the XCD. The bike, sporting a 10.5 brake horsepower (bhp) engine, will cost Rs.45,000 (ex-showroom). The Bajaj XCD DTS-Si 135cc engine gives out 10.2PS of peak power at 7500rpm and a maximum torque of 11.58Nm at 5000rpm. Interestingly bike gives a sporty style statement. As per news, the new XCD 135 DTS-Si has slightly longer wheelbase than older XCD.
While the bike is fully loaded and is aimed at the customers in the value segment looking for a sporty alternative, it will have many first-in-class features like a 135cc DTS-Si engine, a 5 speed gear box, auto choke, gas filled Nitrox absorbers, digital speedometer and LED tail lamps. Other significant features, include electric-start and front disc-brake. It will available in 5 colors and decal option available, which the consumer can choose from.
“We will start exporting this bike in April. Until then the capacity will be utilised for the domestic market,” Bajaj Auto managing director Rajiv Bajaj said.
Bajaj said the bike will “fill the vacuum of Bajaj Auto’s portfolio” between the low-end and high-end two wheeler markets. Bajaj Auto will launch the much-awaited Kawasaki Ninja this fiscal, while two other models, jointly developed by Bajaj and Kawasaki, will be launched next year.
