The Bajaj Avenger could see a major refresh in June this year receiving major updates to the aesthetics and mechanicals after a long time.
The Avenger is easily Bajaj Auto’s most trouble free offering. The company manages to sell over 3000 units every month with little or no effort and sales have been strong month-on-month. The last comprehensive update the Avenger received was back in 2010 when the 220cc engine from the Pulsar 220F was introduced on the cruiser and Bajaj has been selling the same bike since then. Having finally noticed the years on the cruiser, the company might just bring in a refreshed Avenger in June this year.
While details on the updated Bajaj Avenger are not known yet, the 2015 cruiser is expected to get revised aesthetics for a fresh new appeal, new body decals, paint options and updates to the engine with more power likely. The current 220cc engine produces 19 PS and 17.5 Nm of torque on India’s most affordable cruiser but with improved power output and fuel efficiency figures, the bike could see a spike in demand. You could also see better tyres and an updated instrument cluster (possibly digital) feature on the 2015 Avenger.
Apart from the Avenger, Bajaj has planned an onslaught of premium bikes this year with as many as six new launches planned over the next six months that are expected to start from March. The company will finally introduce the Pulsar 200 SS in the country that will be followed by the Pulsar 150 NS and possibly the 200 Adventure Sport (AS) as well. The Pune-based manufacturer most recently launched the new Platina 100 ES that offers a claimed mileage of 96.9 km/l which is indeed the best in the 100cc segment.
