The Bajaj Dominar 400 will boast of the best performance in its segment which can spell trouble for Royal Enfield’s Classic.
The Bajaj Dominar 400 will be launched on 15th December 2016 and a video has surfaced on YouTube which shows the acceleration of the fastest bike from Bajaj Auto. The automaker recently started production of the Bajaj Dominar 400 at its Chakan plant and the motorcycle is expected to be priced at around Rs. 1.8 lakhs (on-road).
The Bajaj Dominar 400 first made its debut as the Pulsar CS 400 concept at the 2014 Auto Expo. Bajaj Auto has done a good job in keeping the concept model close to production with the dual clusters and LED headlights making their way to the Dominar. The upside down front forks have been removed in lieu of the more practical telescopic front forks which are less prone to leakage.
The video which was shot at night using an action camera, shows the Bajaj Dominar hitting 80 km/hr in second gear. The 373.2cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine has been shared with the KTM Duke 390 but gets a lower state of tune, producing 34.5 BHP of power. The main rival to the Dominar 400 is the Royal Enfield Classic 350 as it’s the largest selling bike for the British brand. Bajaj expects to sell 10,000 units of the Dominar every month.
