The new Bajaj Discover 150 has reached dealerships sooner than we thought and has been priced at Rs. 63,635/- (on-road, Mumbai). Positioned below the Pulsar 150, the new Discover is yet to be launched officially, but dealers have started accepting bookings at an amount of Rs. 500/-. The motorcycle on display at dealerships is the naked version of the new Discover, christened as the 150 S; while the semi-faired version likely to be called the â150 Fâ will be launched later in the year.
The new Discover 150 S shares several similarities with the 125 ST. Both the motorcycles share the same platform and body panels; however, the 150 S gets a wider 100/90/17 rear tyre. The bike gets silver finished grab rails, full black paint scheme and web-spoked alloy wheels. The instrument cluster comprising of an analogue tachometer and digital screen along with the switch gear has been carried over from the 125 ST. Suspension duties too remain the same and are performed by telescopic front forks and a monoshock setup at the rear, done-up in red.
Bajaj Auto has not revealed the specifications of the new Discover, but is known to be a 150cc air-cooled, 4-valve engine that will be tuned to provide around 14 PS, 1 PS lesser than the current Pulsar 150. The engine is paired to a 5-speed transmission with a heal-and-toe shifter. The company will be offering the Discover 150 S in two variants with the base variant sporting drum brakes and the top-end variant getting a petal disc at the front. We expect the company to make an official launch announcement of the Discover 150 by the end of this month.
