We earlier reported about the new Bajaj Discover reaching dealerships. While the bike hasn’t been launched officially, dealers have already started taking bookings by accepting Rs. 500/-. The Discover 150 that has reached dealerships is the naked version of the bike and while we were aware about the semi-faired version coming, there were no pictures of the faired bike. Now, the Bajaj Discover 150 F has been spied (the angle in the above picture makes it resemble the old Karizma R) which means that it will also be launched very soon, most likely simultaneously to the 150 S.
The semi-fairing that Bajaj has installed on the Discover 150 F doesn’t really suit the bike. This is a normal commuter bike but still the semi-fairing will surely attract at least some amount of buyers. We Indians really love sporty-looking things so Bajaj has tried to pull the right strings to check whether the Discover does manage to be successful or not. Other then the fairing, the Discover 150 F does not get any changes that sets it apart from the regular Discover. The bike will be powered by a 150cc 4-valve engine whose specifications are not yet known. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
The all-black theme of the Discover 150 S is carried on to the Discover 150 F too. While the Discover 150 S is priced at Rs. 63,635/-, the Discover 150 F is priced at Rs. 68,000/- (on-road, Mumbai). The bike segment is seeing a lot of competition and the Discover doesn’t generate as much sales as expected by Bajaj. It is slotted just below the Pulsar range. Bajaj will make an official launch announcement on the new Discovers by the end of this month.
