As compared to the sales report of October 2015, the Bajaj Discover 150 has seen massive sales drop this year.
Bajaj has seen an unfortunate sales drop of its 150cc commuter motorcycle, the Discover 150, which made the Indian bikemaker to withdraw it from its offerings. As per the official sales report of Indian two-wheelers observed during the period of October 2015, 1272 units of the Discover 150 were sold. The counting shockingly came down to zero, as per the reports of October 2016.
Looking at Indian consumer preferences, buyers are ready to shell out a hiked amount if they get a small capacity motorcycle with impressive looks and performance. Apparently, since the last two years, the Indian market has been flooded with stylish looking 150cc motorcycles. Though the prices of the competitors are high as compared to Bajaj’s low budget Discover 150, what the other bikes offer with the increased price tag is something a majority of buyers would prefer.
Bajaj itself has a bunch of options in this capacity of motorcycles with the massively admired Pulsar 150, the new Avenger 150 and the much hyped V15. Among these, the Avenger 150 has seen a tremendous hike in its sales since its launch. Apart from Bajaj, the other rivalling brands also have various attractive options among which are the Suzuki Gixxer, Honda Unicorn 150, Hero Xtreme and the Yamaha FZ, just to name a few. Moreover, the smaller sibling of the Discover 150 with the 125cc engine has also been delivering a disappointing demand which could make Bajaj halt it as well.
