We all are aware about the fact that Bajaj Auto is preparing to enhance the Discover range in the coming days in order to push sales in the festive season and improve their market share amidst stiff competition. Just recently, a new variant of the Bajaj Discover has been leaked on the interweb, which is termed as Discover 100M. The Bajaj Discover 100M is expected to be launched at the upcoming Bajaj event scheduled on the 15th of October. The bike maker has already enjoyed good volumes from the recently launched Discover 100 4G and 100T.
The 100cc commuter motorcycle segment is seeing growth currently and Bajaj Auto is prepared to cash in on the great opportunity. In terms of styling, the Discover 100M looks more or less the same as its cousins. It features angular headlights with bikini fairing and sharp looking fuel tank that leads towards a clean rear section. The engine and exhaust is finished in black and the alloys get a web-spoke pattern. It will come standard with an electric-starter. The Discover 100M will be positioned between the 100 4G and 100T.
Just like the Discover 100T, the 100M is powered by a carbureted engine which uses DTS-i technology. The 102cc, four-stroke, single cylinder, air-cooled engine produces 9.3 BHP of peak power with 9.2 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 4-speed gearbox. It is equipped with front and rear drum bakes but comes with the option of a petal type front disc brake. Colour options include red, blue and black, where black comes with red decals, yellow decals and blue decals. It is expected to be priced aggressively at Rs. 45,000 (ex-showroom, Pune). The Discover 100M will compete with the Mahindra Centuro and Honda Dream Neo.
