The ABS variants of the Avenger sport the same price-tag which is Rs. 6700/- more.
The updated Bajaj Avenger 220 was recently spotted testing and the news is that both the variants in the Avenger 220 line-up – the Street 220 and Cruise 220 – have received an update and both are priced at Rs. 1,02,425/-. The non-ABS version of the motorcycle costs Rs 95,705/- (all prices ex-showroom, Pune) meaning the ABS update comes at an increase of a little over Rs 6700/-.
The motorcycle sports a single-channel ABS unit that’s also seen on the Pulsar RS 200 and NS 200. It continues to be powered by a single-cylinder 220cc engine that makes 19 PS at 8400 RPM and 17.5 Nm of torque at 7000 RPM. The motor is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
The Avenger series is one of the few motorcycles in the entry-level cruiser segment. The other motorcycle that completes the Avenger series is the Street 180 which is yet to receive the ABS update. Once it does, it will directly go up against the Suzuki Intruder 150 ABS which is also priced at Rs. 1.02 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune).
The updated motorcycle hasn’t made its way into dealerships yet. But some dealers have started accepting bookings of the Bajaj Avenger 220 ABS with deliveries set to commence in the following weeks.
