The country’s third largest motorcycle maker, Bajaj Auto (Honda overtook Bajaj last month to become second) is planning on introducing an all new bike designed and developed from the scratch by the month of June. Mr. Rajiv Bajaj, MD, Bajaj Auto told that the expected schedule to launch the new bike is June. Bajaj is still keeping product details under tight wraps and will be revealing it in the month of May to the media.
Bajaj Auto has a very aggressive year to look forward to. It has already launched the much awaited KTM Duke 200 followed by the Discover. Earlier right after the launch of the Duke 200, it had showcased the all new Pulsar 200NS to the Indian customers but launch would happen sometime in this month. Following this would be Bajaj’s tight lipped all new motorcycle in June. Rajiv Bajaj told that with the launch of the all new Discover, the company expects to sell 1,00,000 units per month.
Such sales, in case it happens would bring double digit growth in volumes to the brand Discover. This would make Bajaj Auto command leadership in the 125cc Indian motorcycle segment. In the FY2013, Bajaj is aiming at selling 5 million units. Last year, Bajaj Auto closed its financial year with annual sales of 4.35 million units.
