Bajaj Auto is planning several new products for the Indian market within the next 12 months which will see introduction of two new versions of the Pulsar and various new versions of the Discover motorcycle. This year, the two-wheeler manufacturer will roll out a smaller displacement version of the Pulsar, positioning it between the 150cc to 180cc segment, which is expected to bring good volumes for the manufacturer. Another version planned to be launched is the Pulsar 375, which will be positioned above the Pulsar 200 NS sharing most of the technology and parts with the KTM Duke 390.
The Bajaj Pulsar 375 will be a performance oriented offering from the manufacturer, which will be positioned below the soon to be launched KTM Duke 390. Recently in January, Bajaj Auto introduced the Discover 100T to the commuter segment and the audience gave an overwhelming response to the bike maker, which is already selling 25,000 – 30,000 units of the Discover 100T every month. Looking at the positive response from customers, Bajaj Auto is now considering expanding the Discover range with around six new variants planned for the coming future.
Currently, Bajaj Auto is selling around 1,00,000 – 1,10,000 Discovers every month in the domestic market and the manufacturer expects the sales to grow significantly to over 1,50,000 units of Discover every month. Bajaj Auto is ready with a plan of four to six new Discover offerings for the time being but they may not introduce all six models this fiscal year, depending upon the competition.
Their product portfolio currently consists of four different versions of Discover and with the new offerings it will come up to a total of 10 Discover models. The company is expecting a 50 percent increase in the sales of the Discover with the launch of new variants.
