Bajaj Aims To Sell 2500 Units Of Pulsar RS 200 Every Month

The Pulsar RS 200 is the most expensive offering from Bajaj Auto and will help expand the company’s 43 percent market share in the performance motorcycle segment.

Bajaj Auto’s most awaited launch of the year the Pulsar RS 200 has finally hit showrooms across the country with prices starting at Rs. 1.18 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) and the company is certain that the new model will be setting new milestones for the manufacturer while also performing consistently well. Speaking at the launch, Bajaj stated that it aims to sell up to 2500 units of the new RS 200 every month. Given the popularity of the Pulsar brand coupled with the price tag, the number surely seems achievable for the company.

The 2015 Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 is available in two variants with the top-end variant getting a single-channel ABS unit while fuel injection comes as standard on both the models. The Pune-based manufacturer will alter the production of the ABS and non-ABS models based as per the demand. The ABS version is priced at a premium of Rs. 12,000/- over the non-ABS model and retails at Rs. 1.30 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). Bajaj also stated that it currently has a 43 percent market share in the performance motorcycle segment in the country, which the company is looking to capture further.

A quick recap on the newly launched Bajaj Pulsar RS 200, the sports bike is powered by a 199.5cc single-cylinder, triple-spark, liquid-cooled engine with fuel injection that is tuned to churn out 24.5 PS of power at 9750 RPM and 18.6 Nm of torque at 8000 RPM, paired to a 6-speed gearbox. A completely new design, the bike gets dual projector headlamps, LED DRLs, digital-analog instrument cluster, split seats, clip-on handlebars and crystal clear lens LED tail lights. Braking performance has been enhanced by the 300 mm disc at the front, the largest in the segment and also gets a side mounted race exhaust. The RS 200 is available only in two colours – red and yellow.
