The August 2021 UV sales chart is a mixed bag with only 5 vehicles registering growth
UV sales in August 2021 remained pretty close to the numbers reported in the same period a year ago and leading the pack was the Eeco from Maruti, which registered sales of 10,666 units.
The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga MPV came next with 6251 unit sales, while the ever popular premium MPV, the Toyota Innova Crysta was third in the list with 5755 unit sales.
Fourth in the August 2021 UV sales list is the Renault Triber (3912 units), which recently saw some revisions made to its variant and equipment list.
Up next is the Mahindra Bolero that found 3218 new homes this past month and it was followed by the Maruti XL6 (2658 units) which had a decent outing in August.
No other car in the UV sales list brought in good numbers for their respective manufacturers. For example, only 379 units of the Carnival were sold by Kia last month.
Mahindra could only shift 181 Marazzos from its showrooms during the same period, while Toyota sold 54 Vellfires and Datsun retailed 4 units of its GO+.
In all, the vehicles in the segment registered sales of 33,078 units, which is a 1 percent drop when compared with August 2020.
