Barring compact sedan sales, vehicles from other segments of sedans did well in August 2021

The Honda Amaze took the lead in the compact sedan sales for August 2021, relegating the Maruti Dzire to second place. Honda retailed 6591 units of its compact sedan, while the Dzire found 5714 new homes this past month.
Hyundai, sold 3094 units of its Aura, while Tata retailed 1673 units of the Tigor, whose electric sibling was recently upgraded for model year 2022.
Ford could only manage to retail 94 units of its Aspire and overall, the cars in this segment registered sales of 17,166 units which is a 22 percent degrowth year-on-year (YoY).

In the C-segment, sales were much better in August 2021. The segment topper was the Honda City with 3284 unit sales, followed by the Maruti Ciaz which registered sales of 2146 units.
Then came the Verna, 2098 units of which Hyundai sold this past month, while the Skoda Rapid (595 units) and Volkswagen Vento (175 units) completed the list.
In all, the C-segment sedans collectively registered sales of 8298 units, which is a 29 percent YoY growth.
