Audi Q7 gets second facelift in India
Audi Q7 facelift launched in India with prices starting at Rs. 88.66 lakhs for the base model and going up to Rs. 97.81 lakhs (ex-showroom) for the higher-spec Q7 Technology variant. This is the second facelift for the current generation of the Q7, which was initially introduced in 2015. Bookings for the vehicle began recently and local assembly is already underway at Audi’s Aurangabad plant.
Updated Exterior and Interior Features
The latest facelift, which debuted globally in January 2024, brings a number of cosmetic and feature upgrades to extend the lifespan of the current-gen Q7. Exterior updates include new OLED headlamps with customisable light signatures, similar to those seen on the Q6 e-tron. The front grille now features a thicker chrome surround with a hexagonal pattern and the bumpers have been redesigned to resemble those on the Q8 SUV. Buyers can choose from five exterior colours: Sakhir Gold, Waitomo Blue, Mythos Black, Samurai Grey and Glacier White.
Inside, the Q7 facelift introduces two new upholstery options – Cedar Brown and Saiga Beige. The dashboard design remains largely the same but there are upgrades to the infotainment system and instrumentation, including the updated Virtual Cockpit. Notably, the Q7 now includes a lane-change warning system, as well as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, although these features are available in a wired configuration only. Other aspects of the cabin, however, remain unchanged compared to the outgoing model.
Powertrain and Performance
The facelifted Audi Q7 continues to be powered by the same 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine, producing 340 HP and 500 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive system, which comes as standard. According to Audi, the Q7 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/hr in 5.6 seconds and achieve a top speed of 250 km/hr.
It is worth noting that Audi had previously offered the Q7 with a diesel engine, but discontinued it as part of its broader decision to phase out diesel models in India. Since then, the Q7 has been available exclusively with the petrol engine.
Competition in the Market
The Audi Q7 facelift remains a three-row SUV and faces competition in the luxury SUV segment from models like the BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz GLE and the Volvo XC90.
