Audi India has teased the Q2 compact luxury SUV on its website and social media handles, hinting that the car’s launch is right around the corner.
With a tagline “An all-rounder for the ages” the Q2, which is the German manufacturer’s smallest vehicle of the body type, built using the VW Group’s MQB platform, is likely to be priced from Rs. 35 lakhs (ex-showroom) and will be a CBU import.
Notably, the model coming to India will be the pre-facelift version, the facelift was only unveiled recently and will make it to our shores in the near future, and would join Audi’s sort after SUV lineup that includes the bonkers RSQ8.
The Audi Q2 will come as a petrol-only model with power coming from a 2.0-litre TFSI unit that is expected to put out 190 PS and 320 Nm.
Design-wise, the Audi Q2 gets the typical crossover stance, a large front grille, LED headlights with DRLs, brushed aluminium-finish trim on the outside, while the C-pillar is blacked out.
Models sold overseas had the option to spec it in different finishes, but we have to see if Audi offers the same feature to Indian customers. At the rear of the car, we can see Polo-esque LED taillights, a wide tailgate and dual exhaust outlets.
Inside, the Q2 will have a cabin based on that of the carmaker’s previous-gen design language. However, expect fit and finish to be top notch, while Audi will also throw in a lot of goodies to keep passengers entertained.
Some of the features the car will come with include, Virtual Cockpit instrument cluster, turbine AC vents, flat-bottom steering wheel, Quattro all-wheel-drive system, latest connectivity and safety tech, among various others.
Bookings of the car will commence by the end of this month, while the Audi Q2 India launch and deliveries will happen in October.
