First came the teaser and now bookings of the Audi e-tron GT have begun as well
Audi has started accepting bookings for the soon-to-be launched e-tron GT, today, in India. With the launch of the electric GT, the German carmaker will have quite a strong electric vehicle (EV) lineup in the premium end of the market.
Revealed earlier this year, the EV is a 4-door coupe that has 2 variants – the e-tron GT quattro and RS e-tron GT – in total.
It will come with a large 85 kWh (net capacity) battery pack and an electric motor on either axle (the rear motor is paired with a 2-speed gearbox).
The e-tron GT quattro comes with 476 PS and up to 640 Nm, while the RS e-tron GT puts out 598 PS and 830 Nm. Naturally, the top-spec model is faster, but the top speed is limited to 250 km/hr.
Maximum claimed range for the international model is 487 km, which is not as high as the Mercedes EQS’, a car that is also set to be introduced in the market.
The e-tron GT does support DC fast charging up to 270 kW and provided one finds such a charger in India, topping up the battery should be a breeze.
Apart from the specifications, another thing that is stellar is the exterior design of the vehicle. Moreover, the e-tron GT is packed to the brim with features.
As standard, the base model will come equipped with LED lights, 19-inch alloy wheels, a 12.3-inch digital display, 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, smartphone connectivity, Audi drive select and rear-axle differential lock, among others.
Of course, the RS variant will get more features like Matrix LED lights and air suspension system, while there will be plentiful optional extras for customers to dive deep into.
However, it will not be an affordable car for the general public by any means, with its asking price likely to be set north of Rs. 1.20 crore (ex-showroom).
