When lightning strikes, you either lie down or get up ferociously. Audi seems to have done the latter and has become very ambitious about the Indian car market. The German automaker is using its top down approach to launch vehicles in the country. With almost all top cars already launched, its time to launch entry level affordable vehicles in India. Thus the first affordable Audi to roll out in India would be the Q3 at the 2012 Auto Expo. The Audi A3 saloon will follow it and would undercut the Q3 by a significant margin. The entry level A3 will feature front-wheel drive and will be priced around Rs. 20 lakhs. However launch is still quite far away as the company looks to unveil it at the 2014 Auto Expo. This gives a significant amount of time for its German rivals to react. Could we see a low cost BMW and Mercedes car which would be priced around the Rs. 20 lakh mark? We certainly hope so.
