Atum 1.0 Electric Bike Launched, Priced At Rs. 50,000/-

The Atumobile Atum 1.0 gets several bicycle parts

EV start-up Atumobile has launched the Atum 1.0 electric bike with a price tag of Rs. 50,000/-, and calls it the new generation electric bike.

It is a low-speed bike and thus does not need registration and the rider does not need to possess a driving license.

Atumobile, which is a Hyderabad-based firm, says the “cost-effective, performance-oriented, cafe-racer styled electric bike(!) is specifically designed for the needs of the upwardly mobile Indian consumer”.

Powering it is a 48 V portable lithium-ion battery pack that offers 100 km range per charge (claimed) and it can be juiced up completely in four hours. A 250 W electric motor provides the propulsion to a maximum speed of 25 km/hr.

The entire battery weighs 6 kg and Atumobile says the EV consumes around 1 unit electricity per charge. It also comes with a two-year warranty.

Design of the bike, well honestly it looks like one of those early bikes which were nothing more than a bicycle with a motor bolted onto them. This is only different by being electric.

Further, the Atum 1.0 electric bike price gets customers a digital display, LED headlight, blinkers and taillight and its maker claims it is built completely using indigenous parts.

Interested customers can order the EV through Atumobile’s online portal and they also have a range of colour choices to choose from.

Currently, the EV is built at the greenfield manufacturing facility located in Telangana that has an annual production capacity of 15,000 EVs, which can be further expanded by 10,000 EVs should there be overwhelming demand.
