Ather Rizta will be delivered in the next 6 months, more spacious electric scooter
Ather is set to expand its lineup with the introduction of a new family e-scooter named the Rizta. The company has recently provided a glimpse of the upcoming model through an official teaser, hinting at a departure from the sportier design language seen in its existing 450 range.
The teaser reveals a flat-faced design, diverging from Ather’s sporty 450 lineup and instead resembling the family-oriented TVS iQube. The scooter features a spacious and seemingly flat floorboard, along with what appears to be 12-inch wheels at both ends. Notably, the Rizta boasts an exceptionally long seat, emphasising a commitment to providing ample space and comfort for riders and passengers.
Ather emphasises that the Rizta will mark a significant leap forward in terms of comfort and safety. The teaser image aligns closely with previously leaked spy shots of the scooter, confirming its departure from a hub motor in favour of a mid-mounted motor, consistent with Ather’s existing lineup. Additional design elements include a horizontal bar-type headlight and tail-lamp, a robust rear grab rail and simplified mirrors compared to the stylised mirrors found in the 450 range.
The official unveiling of the Ather Rizta is scheduled to take place at the Community Day 2024 event, expected in the coming months. Ather has already trademarked the Rizta name, indicating a strategic move towards the official launch. The company asserts that the scooter will be ready for delivery within six months, indicating a relatively swift timeline for its market introduction.
When launched, the Ather Rizta is poised to compete in the growing electric scooter segment against rivals like the TVS iQube (priced between Rs. 1.34 lakhs-1.40 lakhs) and the Bajaj Chetak Premium (priced at Rss 1.35 lakhs).
