Aston Martin DB11 India Launch In October 2016

Aston Martin is finally bringing the DB11 to India, with the launch likely to take place next month.

The DB11 is the most powerful DB model in Aston’s history

Aston Martin will reportedly launch the DB11 in India in October 2016. The grand tourer made its official debut at the Geneva Auto Show earlier this year and replaces the DB9, which came up on the horizon 13 years ago.

It is the first car commissioned out under Aston Martin’s “Second Century Plan”, under which the British carmaker will revamp its line-up and increase its production at the Gaydon facility in England apart from building a new £200 million plant in Wales that will roll out the DBX crossover.

The most prominent change on the DB11 is its new, evolutionary design language with Marek Reichman giving it more detailing on the body, beautifully sculpted LED headlamps and taillights and what Aston claims, the largest clamshell bonnet ever seen on a production sports car. In addition to that, the aerodynamics have been given a lot of attention with the side-strakes reducing lift and an ‘Aeroblade’ helping direct the air through the body towards the rear in a manner that generates more downforce.

The 20-inch rims are taken straight from James Bond’s DB10 seen in Spectre and are wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza tyres measuring 255/40 at the front and 295/35 on the rear.

The cabin has high quality, intricate leather work and Aston has made sure that the tech-nerds won’t be disappointed by roping in its technical partner Daimler to fit the DB11 with a 12-inch TFT display for the instrument cluster and another 8-inch LCD infotainment screen with rotary control and optional touchpad with character recognition, multi-touch and gesture support. The navigation system is completely new and there’s a choice for Bang and Olufsen sound system as well.

Powering the DB11 is an in-house 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine producing 600 HP at 6500 rpm and 700 Nm of torque available from 1500 rpm. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/hr takes 3.9 seconds and the top-speed stands at 322 km/hr. The DB11 has also been spotted undergoing testing with Mercedes-AMG’s 4.0-litre engine of the GT and C63, so expect another powertrain option to be made available in the future.

Power is sent to the rear wheels by an 8-speed ZF transmission and the drivers can choose among three different driving modes (GT, Sport and Sport+) from the electronic steering wheel. Ventilated steel discs promise to deliver optimal braking performance and talking about the suspension, an independent double wishbone set-up is seen at the the front and a multi-link set-up on the rear.
