ARAI Welcomes Public For Tours At Its Facility On 24th May

Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), an R&D Institution of the Indian automotive industry has announced tours for the general public at its facility in Pune. To make the general public aware about the ARAI Facility, the management has decided to permit the common people from any walks of life to pay a visit to the institution to understand about the workings of ARAI with the first ever tour scheduled on 24th May, 2014.

ARAI plans to showcase a list of laboratories/departments to the people who will come for the visit which includes the Academy in ‘D’ Building for ARAI film, Emission Certification Lab, Safety and Homologation, Structural Dynamics Lab, Chemical Lab and Materials Lab, Noise Vibration and Harshness, Passive Safety Lab, Powertrain Engineering, Automotive Electronics Lab, Computer Aided Engineering, Knowledge Centre and Model Class Rooms. Since its existence in 1966, ARAI has taken initiatives and measures towards reducing automobile emissions.

The third Saturday of every month has been exclusively reserved for undertaking such visits. However, the maximum number of visitors at one time has been limited to 100 members entering the facility, which would be in two batches of 50 each for a maximum duration of 2 hours in the morning and evening.

The institution provides technical expertise in R&D, testing, certification, homologation and framing of vehicle regulations. Interested Indian citizens above the age of 25 years are allowed to visit. ARAI is located on Vetal Hill, odd Paud Road, Kothrud, Pune, Maharashtra, India. It is about 25 kms from Pune Airport and 12 kms from Pune Railway Station.
