Aprilia RS 457 revealed, likely to launch during MotoGP Bharat later this month
Aprilia RS 457 revealed, India will be one of the first markets for its launch, which is expected to happen around the MotoGP Bharat later this month. The bike is developed at Aprilia’s headquarters in Noale, Italy and, in parallel, by the test team in Baramati, in the state of Maharashtra, India. It will be manufactured in Piaggio India’s plant in Maharashtra.
The motorcycle looks quite sporty and aggressive, following the design DNA of its elder siblings. The bike has got a twin-pod LED cluster up front with some aerodynamic panels. The side profile reveals the performance-oriented stance of the bike, boasts a well sculpted fuel tank and a racy looking split seat setup which gives an impression of a single seat.
It is powered by a 457cc, liquid-cooled, parallel twin-cylinder with double camshaft timing and four valves per cylinder, delivering 48 HP. It has a 270-degree connecting rod assembly that provides a sporty sound.
The motorcycle has a dry weight of 159 kg and wet weight of 175 kg. It comes with 41 mm USD front forks with 120 mm of travel and preload adjustability. Rear gets pre-load adjustable monoshock with steel swingarm and 130 mm wheel travel.
Braking duty is handled by 320 mm front disc with a ByBre radial-mount 4-piston caliper and ByBre caliper brakes at the rear with 220 mm steel disc. It is equipped with two-channel ABS system with dual map of use. The 17-inch rims mount 110/70 tyres at the front and 150/60 at the rear.
The bike gets Ride by Wire system with three different riding modes that intervene on power and torque delivery and traction control, adjustable to three levels and that can also be disabled. The quickshifter will be offered as an accessory.
Aprilia is offering the motorcycle with 5-inch TFT colour instrument cluster and the handlebar controls are backlit.
