The month of April sees a decline in sales figures for the majority of manufacturers.
It is not a new sight to see that Maruti Suzuki is taking away the top 6 spots. Month after month, the Indian manufacturer has made sure that at least top 5 spots are captured by them. This month, Alto has regained its throne as the best selling car in April with 22,766 units sold. Following the Alto is last month’s leader from Maruti Suzuki, the Dzire that has sold 18,544 units in April. Though the Vitara Brezza and Wagon R have shown a decline in MoM growth of 17 percent and 30 percent respectively, they take the 5th and 6th spots on the table.
The Hyundai Grand i10 is one of the few cars in the list that shows a positive trend in MoM growth and has recorded a growth of 33 percent. Maruti Celerio sees a massive drop in sales with recording only 6668 units sales in April compared to previous month’s 11,807 units. Honda has only one car from its portfolio in April sales to represent the brand and that car is the Amaze. Mahindra’s new boy, the XUV300 sees a drop in sales to 4200 units from previous month’s 4742 units.
The all-new Honda Civic managed to sell 2291 units in the last month, but the number drastically dropped to 369 units this month, recording a decline in MoM growth of 84 percent. Mahindra’s flagship SUV, the Alturas G4 has been consistently selling in low numbers since its launch and has managed to sell 166 units this month. Maruti Suzuki’s Ciaz and Ignis are dwelling at the bottom of the table, but the worst performer in the Maruti Suzuki line up is the Gypsy. The Indian manufacturer has managed to sell zero units of the Gypsy this month, compared to last month’s meagre 3 units.
