Enraged by the service given by Toyota, an angry Fortuner owner fills his car with garbage.
An angry Toyota Fortuner owner, Mr. Hemraj Choudhary has filled his car with garbage before sending it to the service station. Mr. Hemraj bought the car in March this year and spent around Rs. 39 lakhs for the Fortuner which soon developed an issue (which is unknown). The owner is said to have made repeated visits to the workshop but even after the repeated visits, the problem persisted. He also went on to tell that he would give his new SUV to the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) for use as a garbage truck!
The Toyota Fortuner was then sent to the MIDC police station without the knowledge of the owner. It is likely that the officials from the service station had sent the vehicle to the police station. Enraged by this news, Mr. Hemraj got in touch with Loksatta and told the publication that he would donate the Toyota car to the PCMC for garbage collection. It isn’t known whether the owner told this out of anger or did he really mean it. The current status of the SUV is unknown as well.
Toyota is known to have one of the best after-sales services among the carmakers and Fortuner is an established brand in the Indian market. It is in fact, the best-selling car in its segment. The Toyota Fortuner comes powered by a 2.7-litre petrol and a 2.8-litre turbocharged diesel engine. The former outputs 166 PS of power and 245 Nm of torque while the latter belts out 177 PS of power and 420 Nm (MT) and 450 Nm (AT) of torque. Both the powertrains come mated to a choice of manual and automatic transmissions.
