Tata has pulled Hyundai’s leg over Grand i10 NIOS safety rating, in similar fashion to what it did with Maruti S-Presso’s Global NCAP rating.
The social media team at Tata Motors are really having the time of their lives at the moment, especially since their rivals have not performed exceptionally well in the recent round of Global NCAP crash tests.
At a time when sales of the homegrown manufacturer’s cars are growing strong by the moment, Tata is promoting its products further by comparing their Global NCAP safety ratings with that of their competition.
Having recently toyed with Maruti Suzuki over the S-Presso’s safety rating, Tata has now taken a subtle dig at Hyundai.
An official tweet was released by the firm which read – You can only wow some by just being grand on paper. There was an image attached to it which noted that four is better than two in Roman numerals.
But the catch is that the “two” is written as “ii”, denoting Hyundai’s nomenclature. It further adds that “It’s not grand science, it’s simple maths” and next to that is the Tata Tiago’s Global NCAP 4-star rating.
During the recent round of crash tests, Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS safety rating offered by Global NCAP was two stars for both adult and child protection, while the car’s structure was rated unstable. The full report can be read here.
