The Land Rover Discovery has been always regarded as one of the most capable SUVs to have been ever produced. Launched in 1989, the SUV has recorded overall sales of over one million units globally and this year marks the completion of twenty five years of the Discovery model on roads. Celebrating this momentous milestone, Land Rover has released the Discovery XXV Special Edition model.
The Land Rover Discovery XXV Special Edition offers visual upgrades and comes in a choice of four exterior colours as well as commemorative badges. Exterior touches on the special edition include silver-length roof rails, body-coloured handles and a stainless steel bumper with a steel bumper accessory tread plate. The vehicle rides on 20-inch five-split spoke forged alloy wheels in a light polished silver finish. Completing the special edition model are the ‘XXV’ badges on the front door and tailgate.
The interiors feature use of premium leather and are available with three interior options namely ebony, cirrus or dual-tone ebony/cirrus. The fascia, instrument panel and door top rolls are lined with Windsor leather. Land Rover has given the special edition twist pile carpet mats and a leather-wrapped wooden steering wheel. The ‘XXV’ letterings are embossed throughout the interior.
The Land Rover Discovery was upgraded this year and gets a new grille and a redesigned front bumper. The re-worked headlight design now gets integrated daytime running lights with LEDs. Land rover has introduced Wade Sensing, Blind Spot Monitoring, Reverse Traffic Detection, Closing Vehicle Sensing and T-junction Cameras. The 2014 Discovery is now available with Meridian premium audio system. The Discovery 4 is powered by 3.0-litre V6 petrol and diesel engines mated to an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission.
