We know that the Ashok Leyland Stile is a re-badged and cosmetically modified version of the Nissan Evalia. The Evalia doesn’t sell much since it looks very boxy and this doesn’t appeal much to private vehicle owners. However, the Ashok Leyland Stile is aimed at the commercial segment catering to private cabs, hotels, rental companies, etc. The Stile is available at 130 outlets of Ashok Leyland and the company has managed to keep the pricing low by detuning the engine and deleting some features. The van is available in three variants and power steering and AC are standard on all variants.
Now, Ashok Leyland has displayed the Stile Luxury Edition at the 2014 Auto Expo. The Luxury Edition is positioned as slightly more premium offering compared to the regular Stile. It is aimed at those buyers who travel long distances and want to enjoy some good comfort and luxury while their chauffeur negotiates the notorious potholes and traffic in the city. To do this, the company has chucked out both the second and third row seats and added two captain seats. This results in vastly improved legroom as well as good amount of luggage space for two passengers.
The Ashok Leyland Stile is powered by a Renault 1.5-litre k9k diesel engine producing 75 HP of power and 185 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The Ashok Leyland Stile is priced between Rs. 7.49 – 9.29 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is also available in 7-seater and 8-seater configurations.
