Just like other manufacturers, Ford India too has displayed its entire lineup at the 2014 Auto Expo. Ford has displayed the Figo, EcoSport, Classic, Fiesta and Endeavour at its pavilion. Also on display was the European spec EcoSport, finished in blue. The two SUVs from Ford i.e. EcoSport and Endeavour are great lookers and give out a very macho appeal. The EcoSport was launched just last year and it has set the sales charts on fire while its elder sibling Endeavour has been losing out the fight with the Toyota Fortuner.
The Ford EcoSport is available with three engine options – 1.5-litre petrol, 1.5-litre TDCI diesel and 1.0-litre EcoBoost turbocharged petrol engine. The vehicle is available in four variants namely Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium (O). Ford also offers a dual-clutch automatic transmission with the EcoSport. The Ford EcoSport has received two major price hikes since its launch and this hasn’t gone down well with buyers who were anyway made to wait for long durations before they could lay their hands on the vehicle. The Ford EcoSport is priced between Rs. 6.19 – 9.74 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Now coming to the Endeavour, it is available with two engine options – 2.5-litre TDCI diesel and 3.0-litre TDCI diesel. Both the engines feature Variable Geometry Turbocharger (VGT). The 2.5-litre engine is available only in 4X2 guise with manual transmission whereas the 3.0-litre engine is available in 4X2 and 4X4 options with automatic transmission. The Ford Endeavour is priced between Rs. 19.86 – 23.12 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
