Renault has just displayed the Megane hatchback at the 2014 Auto Expo and this vehicle looks HOT! The yellow shade, sporty body design et all lend some nice classy appeal to the Megane. The alloy wheels are attractive too and add a touch of distinctiveness to the vehicle. The model displayed here is the Megane Hatch Knight version. It comes loaded with 16-inch EPTIUS alloys in a dark chrome shade, body coloured GT Line bumper, GT Line dark chrome diffuser, deadlights with black surrounds, LED daytime running lights, tinted rear windows and tailgate, body-coloured door protection, dark chrome door handles, dark chrome door mirrors, leather steering wheel, rear parking sensors and electrically operated mirrors.
The Renault Megane also comes with features like Hill Start Assist, lane departure warning, automatic high/low beam, Tom Tom sat-nav, rear-view parking camera, air quality sensor, dual-zone climate control, ESC (electronic stability control) with ASR traction control and R-Plug and Radio+.
The Renault Megane R.S is powered by a 2.0-litre petrol motor which is turbocharged, outputting 265 HP and 360 Nm. This makes the Megane a true hot hatch in every way as the performance is scintillating and acceleration is brutal. Renault has no plans to launch the Megane in India as the market isn’t mature enough to accept such a premium hatchback. If launched in India, the Megane would easily cost in excess of Rs. 15 lakhs, rendering it out of reach of most.
