The Maruti Ritz has always been a very good hatchback but it didn’t get its due because of its awkward rear design. Maruti has tried to increase the appeal of the Ritz by displaying the Ritz Jubilo at the 2014 Auto Expo. The vehicle looks very good after the modifications but the only thing that goes against it are the body graphics.
The headlights look futuristic, fog lamp holders are well-designed and the choice of alloy wheels is good too. Maruti has also added skirtings to both the bumpers as well as the side. The Maruti Ritz is powered by 1.2-litre and 1.3-litre petrol and diesel engines respectively. Like always, this is just a showcase and nothing will ever come to production.
The Celerio replaces the Ritz in many global markets where the latter is known as the Splash. However in India, Maruti Suzuki will continue to sell the Ritz for like eternity. The Jubilo name might sound funny but the accessories on it should be offered as after market items for purchase at dealerships at a reasonable price.
