Hero Honda was a very successful company formed by a joint venture between two major bike manufacturers. They launched and sold some of the best-selling bikes in India. After splitting with Honda two years back, Hero MotoCorp has been on a roll with new product launches set to take the market by storm. The company has plans to showcase 12 new products at the 2014 Auto Expo out of which 5 new products were already unveiled by the manufacturer last week which include – HX250R 250cc bike, RNT 150cc diesel scooter and Dash 110cc scooter.
Now it has been learned that Hero MotoCorp is in the process of developing a 600cc superbike. Even though this product is still in the initial development stage, Hero is going to showcase a prototype model at the 2014 Auto Expo. The Auto Expo takes place every two years and manufacturers are really taking it very seriously. This new 600cc bike has been codenamed Hastur. The prototype in the picture looks too snazzy and futuristic. The colour combination of black, grey and yellow and the overall body design display the sporty intentions of the bike.
Hero MotoCorp seems to have created this product for the international markets, but knowing that super bike sales are gaining momentum at a good pace in India too, the company will surely introduce this 600cc bike in our market. Hero MotoCorp already has a great reputation and even the after-sales service is good and hence buyers would surely find confidence in buying a premium bike from Hero. More details about the 600cc bike Hastur will be available only at the Auto Expo this week when the product will be unveiled during the press days.
What we can speculate is, the Hero Hastur will be a 600cc bike using a parallel-twin engine (which can be seen by looking at the engine) producing around 80 BHP of power and 65 Nm of torque. It will weigh around 190 kgs and if launched could be priced under Rs. 5 lakhs. The frame is a trellis so expect excellent dynamics from this middle-weight motorcycle.
