The Bajaj Pulsar 375 is much awaited and should have already gone on sale but for unknown reasons has been delayed. A delay is usually not appreciated but everyone is happy as Bajaj Auto is spending more time in testing the bike, not only around its home turf but also across the boundaries of the country (Ooty, etc). When ever you see a camouflaged Pulsar, you remove your phone camera in excitement but we curtailed our enthusiasm when we spotted the Pulsar 375 on the Pune-Bangalore route recently.
Bajaj Auto is testing the new Pulsars extensively and we chose to ride along with the test mule to gauge the changes. We all know the Pulsar 375 will be a full faired bike with ABS and dual headlights. But a close look revealed the bike has daytime running lights. Projectors will be offered as well making the Pulsar 375 a true all-rounder. The motorcycle looks very substantial in person which is going to play a vital role in its success. The company is expected to showcase the Pulsar 375 at the upcoming Auto Expo.
The Bajaj Pulsar 375 is going to draw power from a 373.2cc engine which it will share with the KTM Duke 390. The engine will not use top draw hardware like its Austrian counterpart and thus output will be lower at around 40 BHP of power and 32 Nm of torque. To be offered with ABS, the Pulsar 375 is expected to see a price of Rs. 1.75 lakhs which will make it terrific value for money. Will Pulsar owners go for the 375 over the Duke 390 or RC 390 is yet not known but at this price, there is simply no competition for Bajaj’s most powerful Pulsar.
