Renault was an active participant at the 11th auto expo and it surely paid off well with the Duster in the past two years. Cashing in on the biennial event this year too; Renault has showcased the facelifted Fluence sedan at the Auto Expo in Delhi. The Renault stall is showcasing its entire range of cars in India and the all new concept that has made its world debut.
The Fluence sedan was launched in the country back in 2011 in the D-segment, but really didn’t get the segment rolling as Renault would have hoped for. The sedan with its rather uninspiring quirky French design was long overdue for a facelift and finally Renault has brought in the new model with the company’s new face. The Fluence gets an updated front facia. The grille is now wider and integrates into the headlights with a big and bold Renault logo in the centre, while the bumper has been completely redesigned. The rear and the side profile remains largely the same with minor updates. The facelift also comes with a redesigned headlight cluster and day time running lights giving this very capable sedan a fresh new look.
On the inside the Fluence gets new upholstery, a new instrument cluster and a new multimedia system. The new system gets touchscreen display and can be operated with voice commands as well. The car also offers tilt + telescopic steering, steering mounted controls, Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control, rear parking sensors, dual zone AC controls, rear AC vents and much more. In terms of safety, the car is loaded with ABS, ESP, Brake Assist, ASR, dual airbags, seat belts with pre-tensioner and force limiter.
The car retains the same mechanicals with 1.5-litre dCi motor producing 110 PS of power, while the 2.0-litre engine petrol is capable of 137 PS of power. The car will be available with manual and automatic transmissions. Renault is offering the Fluence in 3 trims, the E2 and E4 diesel and the E4 petrol.
