Chevrolet TrailBlazer is a full-size SUV being showcased by General Motors at the 2014 Auto Expo. In terms of styling, the Chevrolet TrailBlazer looks attractive and well proportioned. The TrailBlazer doesn’t give a sense of boxiness in its design and at the same time it hints of the traditional Chevrolet styling, especially from the front grille. The Chevrolet TrailBlazer looks muscular and has immense presence. If launched in India, the TrailBlazer would compete with the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and Hyundai Santa Fe.
General Motors unveiled the second generation TrailBlazer at the 2011 Dubai Motor Show in the concept guise. Later in 2012, the American automaker introduced the production version Chevrolet TrailBlazer at the Bangkok Motor Show. The TrailBlazer is basically based on a pickup truck chassis of the Chevrolet Colorado. General Motors manufactures the big brute SUV in Thailand and Brazil. We can expect General Motors to introduce the TrailBlazer in India in the near future. If they do, the TrailBlazer would be imported via the CBU route.
Powering the Chevrolet TrailBlazer are two diesel engine options and a single petrol engine option. The 2.5-litre Duramax diesel unit produces 150 BHP of power with 350 Nm of torque. The 2.8-litre Duramax diesel engine produces 180 BHP of power with 470 Nm of torque. The 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine for the Brazilian market produces 239 BHP of power with 360 Nm of torque. In terms of equipment, General Motors offers the big brute SUV with a long list of convenience features and safety tech.
