Hero MotoCorp has announced an important change in its panel. The company has struggled to retain its market since its separation from Honda. Impulse failed to state its presence while Maestro is still struggling to catch up its share in the market. The urge to retain its market share has led Hero MotoCorp to hire Markus Feichtner considered as a pioneer in engine technology. Markus previously was assigned with AVL, an Austrian based automotive consulting firm which is known for its contribution in powertrain technology since its launch in 1948.
Markus played a key role for the tie up between Hero MotoCorp and AVL. AVL would be providing technical assistance to Hero to develop new engines under its feathers. With Markus on the board and collaboration with AVL; Hero looks promising for its comeback. The company has learnt that India is no more looking only at mileage but also performance factor clubbed with that. We can expect some good engines from the company in the future. But how far is the future? We have to wait and see.
The R&D facility is located just outside Jaipur, Rajasthan with an investment of Rs. 450 crores which is expected to be the largest R&D centre in India for the two-wheeler segment. The investment from Hero is certainly a brave move on the deck when the automobile market is marching towards the south.
Hero has also hired Rajat Bhargava as the head of Strategy and Performance Transformation. Mr. Bhargava previously worked for McKinsey & Co. and carried out various projects for the automotive segment. Now he will be laying out plans to boost up the strategies of the company, clearly stating that Hero will be coming up with many launches in the forth-coming years. He will also lead the company to wider horizons helping Hero to enter newer markets.
Clearly Hero MotoCorp is playing its trump cards in with plenty of investment on the line. With these kinds of changes in the executive levels, Hero looks confident to bring out new products in the existing domestic market as well as international markets.
