Nissan unveiled the Terrano last week in India, which is due for launch this festive season in October. It is a badge engineered Renault Duster with significant styling updates on the exteriors as well as interiors, retaining the identical underpinnings. The Terrano will be priced around Rs. 50,000/- premium over the Duster. The automaker claims that the pricing will start sub-Rs. 10 lakhs onwards. Dealers have started taking the bookings for Rs. 1 lakh, cancellation charges are 0%. Nissan has not revealed much about the product officially but our friends at OnCars.in have managed to come up with the variant lineup of the Nissan Terrano.
The engine options on the Nissan Terrano will be identical as the Renault Duster which includes one petrol engine and two diesel engines. The 1.6-litre petrol motor produces 104 PS of power with 145 Nm of torque. The 1.5-litre diesel engine comes in two states of tune – 85 PS/200 Nm and 110 PS/248 Nm respectively. The 110 PS version is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, while the others are coupled with a 5-speed manual and there is no option for an automatic transmission. The variant lineup on the Terrano is also similar to the Duster.
The Nissan Terrano will offer five trim levels that include XE, XL, XL+, XV and XV Premium. The petrol powered Terrano will come with the mid level XL trim only. The 85 PS diesel variant will come with three trim levels – XE, XL and XL+, while the 110 PS diesel variant will be offered with the high end trims that include XL, XV and XV Premium. Nissan will price the Terrano at a premium over the Duster but at the same time, the Terrano misses out on some features such as steering column mounted audio controls and touchscreen multimedia system. Colour options will include Black, White, Silver, Grey, Red and Bronze Grey.
