Tata Motors have launched the Safari Storme in Nepal with a starting price of NRS 37.85 lakhs (Rs. 23.63 lakhs). The carmaker is offering the Safari Storme in six colours and three variants – LX, VX 4×2 and VX 4×4. In India we get four variants including the EX trim that is the mid level trim, which is not being offered in Nepal. Sipradi Trading is the official distributor of Tata Motors vehicles in Nepal. The Safari Storme is available across 12 dealerships in Nepal.
The Tata Safari Storme is powered by a 2.2-litre VariCOR diesel engine that produces a maximum power of 140 PS and a peak torque of 320 Nm, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Safari Storme is the most capable off-roader in its segment and comes equipped with electronic shift-on-fly technology to toggle between 4×4 and 4×2 mode on the move. Tata Motors claims a fuel efficiency of 14 km/l with the 4×2 variant and 13.2 km/l with the 4×4 variant (ARAI certified).
The Tata Safari Storme is being offered with a warranty of 2 years or 75,000 kms. In the Indian market, the Safari Storme comes with a starting price of Rs. 9.95 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the LX trim, which is the bare basic variant that comes with minimal features. Keeping that in mind, it is priced relatively high in its segment. Even the range topping VX variant comes with conventional features unlike its direct rival, Mahindra XUV500, which comes overloaded with features.
