The Renault Duster is the best-selling Renault in the middle east. The Duster has given all smiles to the French company, courtesy its high volume sales. The Duster sold over 1,50,000 units worldwide in the first five months of 2013, witnessing a 57% growth in sales. More so, the Renault Duster 4×4 is selling in hot numbers in the Gulf. Other major companies felt the pinch in the Middle East because of the affordability offered by Renault for a 4×4 SUV.
The Renault Duster 4×4 is available with a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder DOHC petrol engine producing an output of 135 BHP. The all-wheel drive system is Nissan made. It is available in two variants, PE and SE. The top end SE variant is coupled to a six-speed manual transmission. An automatic version is available only in the PE variant which is a 4-speed transmission. The Duster on sale in the Middle East is a 2014 year model offered with a 3-year/1,00,000 Km warranty.
The Duster is also the life-saver for Renault India giving the credits of the highest selling SUV in India to Renault. The Duster in India has sold over 60,000 units since its launch. The compact SUV is witness to over 25 international awards including Indian Car Of The Year 2013. It is a well appreciated product across the globe spanning the European countries, Russia, India, Brazil and the Gulf countries.
Besides, a major facelift is in the pipeline to refresh the stance of the Duster. The Renault Duster in India enjoyed every bit of attention in the compact segment sans the Ford Ecosport. And now it faces tough competition considering the fact that Ford received bookings of over 30,000 Ecosports in just 17 days. And the competition is only about to become stiff with more players entering the segment. What more is Renault going to offer in the facelifted model to continue holding the title in the future?
