The Renault Duster badged under the Dacia brand in the international market is ready to get a facelift. The Duster is well known for its affordable price tag and off-roading capability. The facelift for the Dacia Duster is said to be featuring a touchscreen multimedia system with navigation, parking sensors and better build quality. The test mule was spotted lightly camouflaged at the front and rear, where we can expect most of the cosmetic changes. The facelifted version of the Dacia Duster will make its official debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
The new Duster will get a fresh set of headlights, redesigned grille and revised bumpers at the front and at the back, it will get a new tail lamp cluster with slightly tweaked rear bumper. On the inside, the dashboard will remain the same as the existing model but the instrument cluster will be derived from the Logan sedan with additional touchscreen multimedia system integrated with navigation. The new Duster will also get equipped with cruise control for added convenience on long journeys.
The engine option is expected to remain unchanged on the facelifted version, which is the 1.5-litre dCi diesel motor which produces a peak power of 107 HP with a peak torque of 240 Nm, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The 1.5-litre dCi diesel engine on the new Duster is expected to be available with the Eco2 package, which lowers emissions. In India, Renault is churning out big volumes for the Duster at present. After the launch of the Ford EcoSport, we can expect the Duster’s sales to be eaten up and Renault should be ready with the facelift of the compact SUV to fight competition.
