The country’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp has launched its two-wheeler range in Guatemala City, El Salvador and Honduras, setting a benchmark as its first time the Indian made motorcycles will be sold in these international markets. Hero MotoCorp also announced a partnership with the Guatemala’s well-known Indy Motos Group and will distribute the motorcycles from its outlets in the new markets.
The company has launched the Hunk, Splendor NXG, Super Splendor, Karizma, Glamour, HF Dawn and Achiever bikes in the new markets. The company’s business expansion in the international market will help the Indian brand to gain reputation overseas. Hero MotoCorp has three manufacturing units in India, two based at Dharuhera, Haryana and one in Haridwar, Uttaranchal. These plants are capable of manufacturing 3 million motorcycles per year with the service network of over 3000 centers across India.
Hero MotoCorp has an ambitious business plan of achieving the sale of 10 million units by 2017 and to generate 10% of its total revenue from international markets. To meet the sales target in the future, the company is establishing two new manufacturing plants in the South and West of India. Hero MotoCorp also exports its two-wheeler range to Colombia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal. To achieve the sales target in the future, Hero intends to commence exports to South Africa and other international markets as well.
