Tata’s upgraded Nano budget car is to be rolled out globally. The upgraded version of the domestic four-seater is being referred to by Tata as the World Nano even though the car was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show as the Nano Europa.
Although there’s no news as to whether it will meet stringent North American crash test regulations, the Nano could be launched in southern Europe, South America and other predominantly rural markets. The adoption of a new three-cylinder engine and a new five-speed overdrive autobox will push the Global Nano’s emissions below the 100g/km benchmark.
