The Italy based motorcycle manufacturer, Moto Guzzi, which comes under the Piaggio Group, has launched the naked sports bike, Bellagio in the Indian market. Moto Guzzi commenced its operations in India from late 2012 which included the Griso 1200 8V, the V7 and the Breva V1100 in their Indian product portfolio. The latest offering by Moto Guzzi is the Bellagio and the bookings for the naked motorcycle have started through Northwards Motors dealership in Gurgaon, which is the only dealership of the brand in India.
The Moto Guzzi Bellagio gets powered by an air-cooled 935cc V-Twin engine that operates on a 8-valve DOHC layout and produces a maximum power of 74 PS with a peak torque of 78 Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox that transmits all the power and torque figures to the rear wheel through a shaft drive system. The Bellagio features a 19-litre fuel tank and weighs 224 kgs. The motorcycle comes equipped with twin disc brakes at the front while the rear features a single disc brake.
Coming to the suspension, the Moto Guzzi Ballagio consists of telescopic front forks and a monoshock unit at the rear. Moto Guzzi is a premium motorcycle manufacturer and the Bellagio is intended to compete with the likes of Ducati Streetfighter and some models of Harley-Davidson. The naked bike is currently available only in black colour and comes with a waiting period of six weeks. It comes through the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route in India with a price tag of Rs. 15.2 lakhs (ex-showroom Gurgaon).
