Hyundai had introduced the second generation Santa Fe in the Indian market in the year 2011. The SUV was received in the market with an overwhelming response by the customers but eventually Hyundai couldn’t manage to match up with the sales of the undisputed champion, Toyota Fortuner. Hyundai is all set to launch the next generation Santa Fe in the second half of this year. In order to clear the stock of the existing model, Hyundai has made a couple of changes to the Santa Fe.
The Santa Fe will be replacing the body colored grille with a new black grille with chrome highlighting to give it a mature look (new grille in top pic and old grille in bottom pic). Apart from the new grille, Hyundai will also offer a set of reverse parking sensors on the Santa Fe. The Santa Fe is powered by a 2.2-litre CRDi diesel engine with a capability of producing a maximum power output of 197 BHP at 3800 RPM with a peak torque figure of 420 Nm at 1800 RPM, mated to an option of 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmissions.
The Hyundai Santa Fe comes with an option of 2-wheel and 4-wheel drive variants. Hyundai is known for offering unending list of features and the Santa Fe comes well-equipped with features including 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, ESP, keyless entry with push button start, Cruise Control, steering mounted controls, projection headlamps and much more. The SUV comes with a starting price of Rs. 22.34 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi), which is a bit expensive when compared to some of its rivals.
