According to latest reports, Honda is expected to launch a naked streetfighter version of the Honda CBR250R, which will be introduced at the 2013 Bangkok Motorcycle Show. The upcoming naked bike can be named as CBR250F or CBR250X. There is a huge scope of naked motorcycles in India as there are many bike enthusiasts converting their faired motorcycles into naked bikes. If Honda plans to introduce naked versions to their Indian line-up, they can expect their sales to boost up significantly in the 250cc segment.
The Honda CBR250F is expected to feature the same liquid cooled, 4-stroke, single-cylinder, 250cc engine coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission. It will be a performance oriented naked bike offered with an optional ABS package. The lack of fairing will result in more aggressive pricing for the CBR250. The Honda CBR250R is known for its sporty fairing, refined engine, strong performance and decent mileage of 35 km/l. The 250cc engine powering the CBR250R churns out a maximum power output of 25 BHP at 8500 RPM with a peak torque of 22.9 Nm.
The Honda CBR250F or CBR250X will take on the likes of the naked version of the Kawasaki Ninja 250R, when launched in the international market. We can expect CBR250F to hit the Indian shores soon after its global debut. Recently, Honda has also introduced the naked avatar of the CBR150R, which is known as Streetfire 150. It is expected that Honda will introduce the Streetfire 150 in the next few weeks for the Indian market. Honda is likely to price the Streetfire 150 aggressively under Rs. 1.1 lakhs.
