Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) launched its first scooter, Activa in the Indian market in the year 2000. Honda Activa is known for its comfortable ride and its frugal 110cc engine. Later, the company introduced Honda Dio, which is a more powerful and stylish version of Activa targeted for young people. After introducing its Dream Yuga recently into the mass market segment, Honda is now planning big to add premium machines to its portfolio. This scooter is most likely the PCX150.

The scooter generates around 43 km/l of fuel economy and has a 6-litre tank. The PCX150 weighs less than 140 kgs, which makes it easy to maneuver. The scooter boasts of 14-inch wheels with tubeless IRC 90/90 front and 100/90 rear tires and a single disc with three-piston caliper in front and drum rear brake linked with Honda’s Combined Braking System. Honda PCX150 is well-equipped and the features offered will be seen first time in the segment of scooters.
The Honda PCX150 will be manufactured locally in the company’s factory at Manesar, Gurgaon in order to keep the costs under check. The scooter is expected to roll out with a premium price tag. Honda is also betting big on the premium motorcycle segment, with its 500cc family to be launched in India soon. The company has reported 40.64 percent increase in total sales for October at 2,50,606 units.
